Our Clients

IT Sector

A young business technology company that was involved in developing products for small businesses in the emerging markets was looking to define its focus for the next year and beyond. The client asked us to facilitate the senior management meeting that was being conducted to help them gain a complete understanding of the current state of the company, highlight the shortfalls that are impeding the growth and generate new ideas that will form the basis for creating a marketing strategy for the next 1-2 years.

We facilitated an intensive strategy planning session that involved gathering information about the company's products and services from the different partners that were geographically located in different continents and getting each partner's vision of the company. We analyzed the internal competencies of the company and based on the information revealed about their portfolio plans we helped them identify the primary market segments for their product portfolio. During the session we also suggested some work on the service side of the business that they could do bring in additional revenues that could be used for product development.

The Result
  • Our analysis brought to the forefront the areas they were lagging in, most specifically lack of sufficient attention to marketing for their existing products.
  • The client decided to bring on board a marketing head to carry out the marketing strategy for their products and services.
  • The client arrived at an understanding about the key factors for success in reaching their annual revenue targets and is taking steps to address these factors.

Manufacturing Sector

A large plastic packaging manufacturer that is looking to double its annual revenues in the next three years asked us to evaluate new market opportunities for their new product lines. The client had a broad idea about what product market they wanted to enter, but needed information to validate the identified business opportunity, estimate the market size and provide a direction for which regional market to enter into first and the customers to target.

We conducted extensive primary and secondary market research in key sites and then undertook a rigorous analysis of the data. We also identified all the key competitors and analyzed the specific opportunities available to our client to capture market share. Our analysis showed that the market size was three times as large as previously estimated. Finally, we identified the risks associated with this project and proposed appropriate mitigation strategies.

The Result
  • Our recommendations gave focus to the client team in terms of customer target segment.
  • The client was able to make a decision on the order priority of the different regions.
  • We showed them the associated risks and helped them think about possible mitigation steps.
  • The client was able to take the next steps towards utilizing their manufacturing capacity optimally and put their business on the track towards aggressive growth.

Government Sector

A state government department that is involved in developing low-income housing communities engaged us to develop a rehabilitation and fund-raising strategy for families that were displaced by a natural disaster. The client was looking to rebuild hundreds of small housing communities for the displaced low-income families throughout the affected areas. They required us to develop a strategy that would help them raise the funds that they were falling short of to complete the needed number of homes. Additionally, the strategy should also be developed such that it could be used as a model for rehabilitation and recovery efforts for other similar natural disasters that may occur in future.

We undertook extensive primary research with the help of the various stakeholders to understand the ground realities of the situation and bring out the gaps between the department's plans and the implementation being carried out. In the next stage we focused on secondary research that focused on international best practices that were being followed by various development bodies for effective rebuilding of new communities in similar situations across the globe. Finally, we drafted recommendations that would bring in donors for both funds and assistance in execution of the work. The recommendations also brought out different ways for enabling transparency and accountability for the complete involvement of the donors.

The Result
  • The recommendations made could be used for building model village communities that take individual, social and developmental needs of the residents.
  • A donor engagement model that could be used by the client for this project and future such projects was delivered.
  • A method was proposed for different levels of sponsorship that helped the client target external sources for funding the rebuilding effort.
  • The client was able to implement the plan for effective project management through the accountability and monitoring mechanisms that were recommended.
